Equitation Awards Abound At Raleigh Spring!!

Less than Spring feeling temperatures did little to dampen the performance of the Greystone riders and horses at the Raleigh Spring show last week. St Patricks day seemed to especially shed its good fortune on our riders in the Equitation classes. Once again Remy and Mack garnered more Maclay and USEF points, finishing second and third in the Maclay and second and fourth in the USEF Medal.

Maddie won a HUGE NCHJA Childrens medal class, putting in a flawless round on her relatively inexperienced Picturesque EF, and Olivia and Bri were second and third in the Bryan Jones Medal.

The results are great, but more gratifying to me is to see the consistency and fluidity of the rounds. The understanding about track and pace and accuracy that the girls have developed is clear and its so much fun to watch them apply their skills!

The jumper ring proved just as exciting as Adi and her new horse, Cupido Du Marias Z were Champion in the Low Childrens jumpers, winning 2 out of the three classes. It was Adi's first time in the jumper ring and her first show with 'Cupid' so we are all excited to see them progress!

Maren's baby 'Captivo' was once again Reserve Champion in the Baby Green division. We really love how this young horse consistently continues to show his quality in his first season horse showing.

Lissette and Czech Please laid down solid rounds, the highlight of which being a third place out of sixteen in the super competitive Pre Adult Division. Lissette has really put in the work and its paying off!

Other notable achievements included Mack placing 7th in the USHJA Derby out of 23, scoring an 80 in the Handy round

Bri had a successful move up to the highly competitive 3'3 A/O Division, scoring great ribbons!

On the home front, more exciting news as we congratulate Emma and her family on the purchase of 'Alabama'. As a multiple time veteran of the Maclay and Pessoa Finals, we cant wait to see this horse help his young rider achieve her goals!
